The Boneshakers - April Meet

The Boneshakers regularly meet on the 1st Sunday of the month at The Roebuck Inn near Lewes, and the weather couldn’t have been better for their April Meet. A warm sunny Sunday early in the year encouraged a great turn out giving plenty to see and lots to talk about.

Not having been to a Boneshakers meet before I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect or whether my 70’s Americana would fit in with their scene. But I must say they are a friendly bunch who were very welcoming and encourage all types and styles of vehicles to their meet.

The diverse range of American vehicles meant there was something to suit everyone’s taste with cars, pick-ups, rods, custom and a few bikes. With the car park full and the lay-by’s & verges on both sides of the road also taken, the spectacle was so great it prompted many passers by to stop. This included the owner of a lovely 1950’s Bentley Continental who happened to be driving past and decided to turn round and come and admire the show!Bentley Continental

As the afternoon gently slipped by the cars began to thin out, and having best part of an hour’s journey ahead of me I decided to make tracks as well. It was a great afternoon and I hope to catch one or two of my new friends at Wheels Day. But if not I’ll see them again soon, no doubt the next month at the Roebuck – weather permitting!The Boneshakers - Sunday Meet (April 09)
