Welcome to my home page for "Tori" a 1976 Ford Gran Torino Brougham. One of 3,500 of this model made that year. I am currently running a 351 Windsor with a few mods: Edlebrock Performer 4 barrel carb, Edlebrock Performer intake manifold, Crane Cam and MSD pro-billet ignition and distributor.
I have owned "Tori" for 2 years now, and have limited the mods made so far. I originally intended getting a full "Starsky & Hutch" looking Torino, and whilst looking I came across this rather different version in black. As I'm sure many have done before, I only went to look, but having seen her in the flesh and experienced that V8 rumble, I couldn't leave without her. What's more I loved the look in Black and it wouldn't be right to convert a very special car into another clone.
I have made a couple of mods, but nothing that couldn't be reversed if I wanted her stock again. I changed the original 14" wheels to the 15" Ansen Sprints and went from 225's to 235 front and 275 rear. I have also changed the steering wheel to a smaller than original 14" Grant steering wheel with a 3.5" dish, stereo upgrade and tacho with shift light.
At the last M.O.T they reported a very sad and badly corroded exhaust, so I decided to go for a custom made 2.5" stainless steel system. I had this done by Pipecraft, who did a fantastic job - straight through with glass pack mufflers and now she sounds even better.
My attention is now turning to the heads and torque converter. There are so many options so I guess I'll keep you posted!
