Ashington Sussex Car Show "2 Fast 2 Furious" - don't miss it!

The Ashington Sussex Car Show will be with us in a week’s time taking place on Saturday 15th August. This show is part of the Ashington Festival and is also known as 2 Fast 2 Furious at Ashington.

The car show is always well attended with a good selection of rides ranging from American Muscle, Customs, Hot Rods, British / European Classics and Ricers / Modified (hence the 2 Fast 2 Furious). At Ashington there are often some familiar faces from the Worthing show a couple of weeks previous, which helps to make it a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.

The Ashington Festival provides plenty of alternative entertainment to the car show, so if you decide to take the family along and any of you fancy a change of scene there is plenty to see and do. The festival offers a carnival parade, arena displays, flower show, car boot sale, fair ground, dog show, various animals, display stalls along with the usual food and drinks facilities.

The keen eyed reader will have noticed I mentioned “Carnival Parade” as one of the attractions. This takes place between 1.00 – 2.30pm with London Road and Church Lane being closed during this time.

So it is best to arrive before 1.00pm to avoid any dramas. If you can’t get there before the carnival parade, leave it till 2.30pm when you will be able to get through again – don’t think I’m too late, you’ll still be very welcome.

The festival also provides evening entertainment of a live band, food, a licensed bar and a firework display – so all you need is the weather for a really fantastic event.

NOTE: If you are arriving in a low rider please pay particular attention to the map shown here or check it out at the Ashington Show listing under the button “Shows” as there are speed humps to negotiate unless you come in from the Worthing side.
